Description/Educative Purpose:

To view and understand the differing and changing landforms of Australia and develop an understanding and appreciation of the indigenous people and their culture from this area, students in Year 10 are offered the opportunity to attend the Central Australia Tour.
This tour is an amazing opportunity for both a cultural and social experience and can only be described as a once in a lifetime opportunity. Key highlights will include Uluru, Kings Canyon, Alice Springs, Litchfield National Park and Kakadu.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION –

1. Agreements regarding ‘Refunds and Additional Costs’ for students withdrawing prior to and during a Tour, Camp or Excursion are found under “Additional Questions” in this event. All sections must be completed. Please note that from 20 July 2024 any payments are deemed non-refundable.
2. There is no more waitlist – any drop in student numbers will increase the overall cost.
3. There will be two nights at Darwin where students will purchase their own dinner – this is not included in the cost. One at the Mindil Beach Markets, the other at Strokes Wharf.

Please note: Students will need to:

demonstrate appropriate behaviour (adhere to the behaviour contract), leading up to and on the tour
a level of fitness (e.g., able to complete 2.5 hr walk around the escarpment of Kings Canyon and able to traverse rugged terrain and remote areas)
communicate with teachers about classes that will be missed and work to catch up on
