Year 11 PE students will have the opportunity to attend Deakin University for a 2-hour program on Biomechanics. This will be a great opportunity for the year 11 students to develop an understanding of some Year 12 content that will assist in their studies next year. There is a limited number of spots for students, if the number is exceeded, we will hold a ballot to establish participants.
In this lab, students will explore cutting-edge Biomechanical methods for assessing human movement in exercise and sport to enhance performance and reduce injury risk. This will include examinations of how movement changes on different sport surfaces, the influence of technique on movement The program is run at Deakin University’s Melbourne Burwood Campus. Each session runs for 2 hours, conducted in our new state-of-the-art Specialised Indoor Exercise and Sport Science Teaching Building. Students will need to complete the medical and consent form which is attached in the resources tab. Students will be required to attend their normal classes outside of the excursion times.
