Immigration Museum & Hofbrauhaus
Description/ Educative Purpose:
As part of our German programme, we are committed to providing cultural experiences and understanding through a range of activities. As part of cultural studies at school, a visit to the Immigration Museum located in the city give students a unique insight into the immigration of Germans to Australia. Afterwards, we will be partaking of a set meal in a German restaurant, sampling traditional dishes. Students on a cultural visit to the Hofbrauhaus get to experience some of the traditional foods of Germany.

Students will meet accompanying staff (JRY + CJI + one other) at Heathmont Train Station at 8:50am. Staff and students will board the 9:15 Flinders Street train and proceed to Flinders Street Station, arriving at 10am. They will then walk 7 minutes to the Immigration Museum at 400 Flinders Street. The group will spend 2 hours at the immigration museum. At approximately 12pm, students will walk 20 minutes to Hofbrauhaus Melbourne on Market Lane. They will eat a traditional German meal here. Students and staff will walk 7 minutes to Parliament Station to take the 1:50pm Belgrave train to Heathmont Station arriving at approximately 2:35pm. Students will be dismissed from Heathmont Station.
