Raise Foundation is a registered Australian charity delivering mentoring programs in secondary schools nationally. We would like to extend an invitation for your child to be involved in Raise Foundation’s Youth Mentoring program at your school. Please also complete the consent form on Raise’s website (note there our multiple pages to click through) |
Raise mentors are volunteers from the community and corporate partners who have been formally trained in best-practice mentoring. They will visit your school as a group once a week during Terms 2, and Term 3 for one hour of supervised mentoring. All mentors have been screened through appropriate Working with Children Clearances. Students with mentors often benefit from having a neutral, positive role model to talk to who is an adult, but who is not connected to their school or family. Together, your child and their mentor will be able to decide how they participate during these sessions, but other young people have said mentoring has helped them to have someone to talk to, develop resilience and coping strategies, build trusting relationships, increase confidence, set and achieve goals, and just figure stuff out together. |
