The purpose of this day is to equip our incoming school captain team with the essential skills and knowledge they need to be effective leaders in our school community. We believe that strong leadership is the key to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
The program on the day will focus on various topics, including:
- Public Speaking: Develop the confidence and ability to communicate effectively in front of both small and large groups. Effective public speaking is crucial for conveying your ideas and inspiring others.
- Communication: Enhance your interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening, empathetic communication, and conflict resolution. Effective communication is at the heart of successful leadership.
- Teamwork: Learn how to work collaboratively with your team, leveraging individual strengths to achieve common goals. Effective teams are more productive and better equipped to tackle challenges.
- Problem Solving: Develop problem-solving skills and critical thinking to address various challenges that may arise in your role as school captain.
- Taking Action as a Leader: Learn how to initiate and lead positive change in our school community, turning your ideas into action.
In addition to the program being presented by a guest speaker, members of our current 2024 team will be in attendance to give advice from their experiences in leadership this year.
Students to meet at Muffin Break and will then be escorted to the location, meeting room 3. Catering will be provided.
